This radio stream contains recordings of phone calls made almost entirely from New York City payphones. In addition to my calls you will hear sounds of subway buskers performing in the New York City subways, as recorded using nearby payphones. You may also hear recorded messages that play when attempting to call payphones that have been disconnected.
May 4, 2022: Payphone Radio is now available as an Android app . A big thanks and a shoutout to my friend Paul Henshaw at Starkey.Digital for putting this together for me. After 20 years of slinging code, web pages, and applications I reached a point where seeing another line of computer code was enough to make me hyperventilate. So it was gratifying for Paul to step up and do this.
