Yuancheng Xu (徐源诚) is a PhD student at University of Maryland, College Park advised by Prof. Furong Huang . His research focuses on Trustworthy Machine Learning, including adversarial robustness, fairness, privacy, and interpretability of AI systems. He is particularly interested in automatic search for undesirable behaviors in foundation models like large language models and vision-language models.
Before joining UMD, he obtained the bachelor's degree in mathematics from Southern University of Science and Technology in China. He had worked with Prof. Christina Ramirez on developing machine learning algorithms for high dimensional longitudinal data with correlated feature at UCLA, and worked with Prof. Sukbin Lim on computational Neuroscience at NYU Shanghai.
During summer 2023, he will be working as a research intern with Dr. Mahmudul Hasan at Comcast AI on scene-text understanding using vision-language models.
