York County First Steps became the Implementing Agency for the Nurse-Family Partnership Program in early 2016 and we began to enroll first time mothers in late 2016. This program is one of the gold standards of nationally recognized evidenced based interventions with over 40 years of research and demonstrated outcomes. We operate under the name of York Regional Nurse-Family Partnership and serve at risk first time mothers in the Chester, Lancaster, and York County Region.
Nurse-Family Partnership assigns registered nurses to work with at risk first time mothers, beginning prior to their sixth month of pregnancy and continues to provide home visitation services until the child reaches two years old. The goals of the Nurse-Family Partnership Program are:
