Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and also the largest city of the country. The city is located in the Ararat Plain and lies besides the river Hrazdan. The city has about 1.2 million inhabitants and is the administrative, cultural and industrial center of the country.
Tatev, the village lies in the province of Syunik in the south of Armenia and is one of the most visited destinations in Armenia. The biggest attraction is the 9th century Monastery complex of Tatev on the edge of a valley, where the Vorotan river flows. The monastery complex, including the surrounding area and the Vorotan valley, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995.
On the banks of the river Mtkvari lies the largest city and the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. About 1.5 million of the nearly 5 million inhabitants of Georgia live in the capital. Tbilisi is a western city with modern buildings, but at the same time the ‘old’ Tbilisi is well preserved. In Tbilisi you literally walk in history and in the future.
