Margaret Angela Franklin was elected as Vice-Chair of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors in January 2022. Vice-Chair Franklin previously served as Chair Pro-Temp in 2020 and 2021. She currently serves as the Woodbridge District Supervisor and is Chair of the Virginia Rail Express Operations Board. Vice-Chair Franklin is a member of the Coalition of 100 Black Women, Prince William County Chapter and African American Women on the Hill, the planning committee for African American Women on the Hill,
Supervisor Franklin is on the planning committee for African American Women on the Hill, the Board of Advisors for the Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee and serves as a Commissioner to the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Supervisor Franklin received her Master’s Degree from Howard University in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She currently resides in Woodbridge, where her passion is working to create public policy initiatives that have a positive and lasting impact on diverse communities.
