Description: Winter Count is an annual primitive skills conference and gathering in the Arizona desert that takes place in February. We offer a hands-on interactive learning environment where 20-30 classes are held everyday, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels, by nationally known instructors. Other activities include: kids and teen camps, primitive weapons competitions and evening campfires with drumming, story-telling, and dancing.

Winter Count, (started 1995), is part of a family of gatherings that strive to reconnect people with old ways of making fire, tanning hides, forming metal, weaving baskets, hunting, gathering and much more.
