Your hosts, Christine and Don Aubrey, welcome you to Fort Smith and its unique surroundings in the South Slave Region of the Northwest Territories in Northern Canada. Come and stay with us and taste the flavour of Canada's sub-arctic where winter lights dance in the sky, the bison roam free, and canoeists and kayakers paddle until the sun sets.
Our home is an octagonal log house in Fort Smith, a community of approximately 2,500 people near the 60th parallel, the Slave River, and Wood Buffalo National Park.
As Canada's largest national park, WBNP protects the native Wood Bison population as well as providing the only remaining nesting ground for a self-sustaining population of Whooping Cranes in North America.
