The Worthington Estates Cross Country Team began in the fall of 2012. Inspired by the long-time success of the cross country running program at Colonial Hills Elementary, a group of parents led by Jennifer Shaver came up with the idea of starting a cross country program at Worthington Estates. Originally named the “Rockin’ Recess Runners” kids began running laps at lunchtime, keeping track as their miles mounted throughout the fall. If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to become a member of the Rockinʼ Recess Runners R3 Cross Country Team! Our primary goal is to have fun while running together as a group. Over 400 WES students participated in 2022 and we expect the 2023 program will be even bigger! This is our 11th year at WES! All ages K-5 and all abilities are welcome.
