The Village of Hamburg Dept. of Public Works will no longer be accepting latex paint for disposal on the Mondays after large trash. Sherwin Williams and Arthur's Hardware in Orchard Park have become drop off sites through the Paint Care recycling program. Click on "read more" for a list of acceptable/unacceptable items. It is recommended you call Sherwin Williams or Arthur's before dropping off to confirm hours and to make sure the store can accept the amount and type of paint you would like to recycle.
The Village of Hamburg Sanitation Dept. will accept latex paint for disposal at the curb on your garbage day if it is dried up (leave on the ground next to tote with lid off). If latex paint is not dried up, mix in kitty litter or sawdust and allow the paint to dry/harden up. Once it is dried/hardened, place it on the ground next to your tote with the lid off , and Sanitation staff with take it with your weekly garbage collection.
Mattresses ( do not have to wrap box springs ), mattress toppers, futon mattresses/cushions must be bagged/wrapped in plastic when they are disposed of during large trash weeks. You may provide your own bag/wrap or Mattress bags are available at Public Works, 425 Pleasant Avenue for $6.00 each (cash or check).
