HOLA UTOPIA! X TRAMONTANA Hola Utopia! is an International street art festival in Hannover, Germany. Each event begins with a process of participation in which residents of Hannover are invited to take part in workshops to express their future visions of a sustainable and friendly lifestyle. International artists then interpret those ideas into huge murals which are painted on walls throughout the city.
A special program of events was included in Hola Utopia! 2022. On Wednesday 7th September at 9pm, a free screening of Street Heroines took place at the Indiego Glocksee cultural center. The documentary, directed by Alexandra Henry, takes a deep dive into the contributions of women to the worldwide street art scene. The screening was followed by a party at the same venue featuring Hola Utopia! DJs.
The refurbished warehouse complex of Hainhoelzerhoefe was another essential stop on the route laid out by Hola Utopia! 2022. Two exhibitions opened on Thursday 8th September at 7pm, one featuring a selection of original works, prints and collectables by Hola Utopia! artists past and present. The other show was a solo exhibition by German photographer Sebastian Denz .
