The Vision of the University Grants Commission's Human Resource Development Centre (UGC-HRDC) is to "provide to the participants an intellectually challenging ambience to develop and blossom as academically growing, socially conscious and nationally responsible citizens".
The objectives of the UGC-HRDC are (a) to organize Orientation Programmes to the young teachers of the Higher Education system to help them get a holistic vision of the system and understand their roles and responsibilities; (b) to periodically organize in-service training programmes for the Higher Education teachers to help them enhance their teaching competencies; (c) to organize subject-specific and inter-disciplinary Refresher Courses to help the Higher Education teachers enrich their domain knowledge;
