Following an agreement being reached between Essex County Council and UBB Waste (Essex) Limited (UBB) in relation to the design, construction and operation of the mechanical and biological waste treatment facility, otherwise known as Tovi Eco park in Basildon, Essex, UBB have agreed to close, clean, safety proof and demolish the facility before handing back the Environmental Permit to the Environment Agency.
Following the commencement of structural demolition of the biomaturation halls in December 2023 we are currently finalising the removal of the internal processing equipment to allow the pre-processing and waste reception areas of the facility.聽 Further updates will be provided on this website as these works progress.
Following the appointment of a specialist contractor by UBB, preliminary works are scheduled to get underway shortly, ahead of the removal of the waste facility in Basildon.
