Clock Museum

Welcome to clockmuseum.co.uk .   This site aims to share my passion for clocks.   The site is divided into the three areas of horology that interest me. They are:-   Turret clocks , Electric Master Clocks and Other Interesting clocks .   Please use the menu above to follow the links to each type of clock and click on the pictures to expand them.

Turret Clocks  or Tower clocks are those pieces of Horological machinery that exist behind Church and Public building clock faces. They were really only ever seen by the person who once a week went up the tower to wind them and yet they can be incredibly ornate and detailed. Probably the most famous Turret Clock is the Great Clock of Westminster (Popularly known as Big Ben, although this name actually refers to the bell and not the clock.) The Great Clock of Westminster is actually 150 years old this year.
