Service in one’s community is one of the best ways to help others and find yourself. Tom Cannavo believes and lives by this notion. Although working long hours as a trial lawyer in Buffalo, New York, Tom makes sure to find the time to volunteer in his community.
His appreciation and desire to serve came in large part due to his education. He attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and Canisius College, each school rooted in the tradition of service. He took what he learned at each school to heart and is still involved with each of them. In fact, Tom has been active as an alumnus, having previously served as Vice President of the alumni board at St. Joes.
One of Tom’s more recent pursuits is his re-affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, an organization that he remembers fondly from his youth. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society for Catholic men over 18 years of age. The Knights are an international organization created to promote Catholic education and provide charitable services. When Tom was a schoolboy, he was involved in youth basketball and bowling leagues at the Knights. As an adult father of two young sons, Tom is happy that they
