After the success of our Ongoing Scene Study and Voice Intensive, now comes a new Scene Study and Clown Intensive, providing professional actors and advanced students an opportunity to grow at an accelerated rate by bringing the spirit of the Clown into their acting.
The actor's Clown is their "Little One", the actor when they were young, before they were socialized, when they used to play with abandon, and had a desire to uncover the beautiful, the violent, the passionate, the mysterious, and the funny with an intense curiosity. Clown work reverts the actor back to find that Little One, fight their fears, and identify and combat their inhibitions onstage; the actor works toward that messy, scary, FUN place of absolute generosity and vulnerability.
Over the course of six weeks, actors will experience first hand that when they let the Little One lead, deep, raw truth will follow. Students will further their ability to enter the imaginative world of the play (they're called PLAYS for a reason!) and personalize and illuminate their character’s thoughts and choices, the clown work allowing for a more curious, wonder-filled rehearsal process.
