The Arabic word الصراط المستقيم -Al-Siraat Al-Mustaqeem means ‘THE RIGHT WAY’.
Both Judaism and Islam believe that most of the prophets prayed to God/Allah that they be shown the right way.
Dawud (David) prayed, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul” (Zabur[Psalm] 143: 8). Many Muslims, following their prophet, recite Sura 1 many times each day: “You alone we worship, and you alone we ask for help. Guide us to the right way or the straight path”.
