We are new and growing and support originalists i n that they read little to no "extra" into what the founding fathers meant when they wrote the Constitution. Of course, the document must live and breathe, as things change with time. However, many politicians and jurists take that to mean that they can twist our founding fathers' words too far to the left or too far to the right.
There is a fine line between making the Constitution fit your agenda – which may or may not be good – and applying it to current events. And this is why we have case law. In many cases, case law correctly interprets the Constitution. In some cases, that case law mangled the founding fathers' words to benefit one faction of the people who live in the United States.
