The Island Current has been a staple of the small seaport community of City Island since 1971 and continues to exist through the hard work of many Islanders. The Island Current works to celebrate City Island's past and looks toward a bright future for the community. Our paper goes out to homes and local businesses on City Island, as well as to subscribers around the country.
Through the tireless work of many volunteer Islanders, The Island Current has been a facet of City Island for over 50 years. In fact, The Island Current celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first issue in October of 2020.
