Located on Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit.  This forgotten gem has been completely restored to it's original luster and is ready to host Detroit's premier live events.   Designed by architect C. Howard Crane (also responsible for Orchestra Hall and the Fox Theater),  The Garden Theater was one of the largest theaters in the city outside the downtown theater district when it opened in 1912.

This beautiful gem, located in the heart of Midtown, was designed by the late C. Howard Crane.  The Garden Theater is one of Detroit’s original 62 Theatre’s, including the Fox Theatre.  Originally, it showed films and got its name “Garden Theater” because of the faux flowers and greenery to give it that outdoor feel. Later it became an Adult Only Theater, hosting live performances and Burlesque shows, most knew it as the Sassy Cat.

Renovations for the Garden Theater as we now know it began in 2012 and reopened in 2013 as a 1,200 capacity, mixed use venue: Hosting all types of Events from Weddings and Proms; Mitzvahs to Corporate.  The Garden Theater is proudly black owned and family operated by Michael Byrd and George Stewart.
