We are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. But how we do it is just as important. We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents.
Welcome to The Dalles Kiwanis Club. Our Club is focused on improving the lives and experiences of children within our communities. Kiwanis club meets at 12pm Thursdays at Spooky’s Pizza in The Dalles and anyone is welcome to come along, even if you’re not a member.
The first clubs were organized to promote the exchange of business among the members. However the members were distributing Christmas baskets to the poor. A lively debate ensued between those who supported community service as the Kiwanis mission and those who supported the exchange of business. By 1919, the service advocates won the debate.
