This website has been developed for two main reasons:
There have been books, articles and academic works about the live music scene in Brisbane in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Few works mention The Bent Elbows , even though all make extensive references to the many aspects of Brisbane in which The Bent Elbows were heavily engaged; such as the University of Queensland, radio station 4ZZZ, the Joint Efforts, and Cloudland Ballroom. This website puts The Bent Elbows history out there for the record.
Some band members and former roadies are building a definitive history of The Bent Elbows and their life growing up in St Lucia. Therefore, we would like any former fans, hangers-on, roadies or interested music historians to get in touch with us. We are looking for stories, newspaper articles, photos and memories.
