9 in 10 people already recycle drinks packaging when at home. This is a fantastic achievement and should be celebrated. However, this figure drops to just 4 in 10 when out and about. This means that mountains of materials are going to waste every year. In 2019, this figure was estimated to be eight billion drinks bottles and cans in the UK alone!
Our sixth on-the-go recycling campaign will bring a new, effective on-the-go recycling system to Telford Town Park to stop materials here going to waste. We’re running a six-month trial in collaboration with Telford and Wrekin Council to keep materials #InTheLoop and reduce waste.
Telford Town Park is a hive of activity, right next to Telford Centre shopping centre. It’s an award-winning park and outdoor events venue featuring lots of fun attractions such as a mini theme park and community zoo. It is a hotspot for families, and we will be aiming for a fun campaign that appeals to this audience.
