Description: Remembering TechEvents.Wales, a side-project I launched in 2018 that shared event listings pulled via the APIs of Eventbrite and Meetup.
In Chapter 4 of the book , one of the tactics I give for (indirectly) finding potential clients is by creating content and resources that benefit your local community. The idea is that they see it, it helps them, and then they a) refer it (and you!) onto other people, and b) hopefully remember you if/when they need you to do some freelance work for them.
One of the examples I gave was one of my own creations, which was called TechEvents.Wales (or TEW for short): a calendar of all the upcoming tech meetups in South Wales, mostly pulling data from the APIs of Meetup and Eventbrite.
