SWMMR workshops have taken place annually since 2015. The first six were held at the University of New Mexico (2015), the University of Arizona (2016), the University of California-Riverside (2017), the University of California-Santa Cruz (2018), Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (2019), and Northwestern University (2021).
