Bellbrook (East Division) and Eaton (West Division) have claimed the 2023 SWBL All-Sports titles. The all-sports title is Bellbrook’s seventh in a row and 26th in 29 years . Anthony Cordes , a 2004 Valley View High School grad, is playing in this week's PGA Championship. One of golf's four Majors, the PGA Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday at Oak Hill East Course in Rochester, NY. Cordes, who played collegiality at Miami (Ohio), is currently the PGA Assistant Professional at Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta. He finished T-2 at the 2022 Georgia PGA Professional Championship. Cordes tees off at 9:12 a.m. on Thursday in Round 1.
Waynesville senior pitcher Joe Stone tossed a six-inning no-hitter in a 12-1 win over Clark Montessori in the opening round of the D-III sectional tournament on Monday at Withrow HS. Stone struck out 12 and walked three. The Spartans play at Norwood in the second round Wednesday.
