Dear Friends, The dictionary defines a veteran as a “member of the armed forces who has been in active service.” I think a veteran is much more than that. Veterans are men and women who have placed themselves in harm’s way to protect our nation and the freedoms we all enjoy. Most of us cannot fathom the atrocities they witnessed or the hardships they endured. Many still bear the physical and emotional wounds inflicted during battle.
