We make oil paintings that re-enact dance moves from the 1981 cult hit novelty song Superman by Black Lace. Dance moves that we recreate include clapping hands, walking, swimming, skiing, spraying deodorant, sounding a horn, Macho Man, ringing a bell, and of course the Superman.
Some of our favourite works of art of all time such as Las Meninas , Rembrandts later self portraits , and The Laughing Cavalier by Frans all have a dignified life like quality that tricks part of the brain into thinking that the person in the painting either could have just moved a moment ago or is about to do so.
