The SWP took ownership of the Stannard Rock Lighthouse in 2015 and is proud of the important role this remote landmark plays in international (US/Canada) climate research including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environment and Climate Change Canada. SWP staff also conduct monitoring at the lighthouse and use data in developing regional climate adaptation plans for coastal communities.
