Fibre broadband – Community Fibre surveyed the flat blocks on 19 May for installation of fibre broadband to the premises and we await its proposal. BT Openreach suggested surveying when unsafe during the pandemic then stalled for months for spurious reasons, eventually admitted it had a large backlog and finally carried out its survey on 14 June. We will keep owners informed of installation plans.
Tree work update – An ultrasound survey indicated that the trunk cores of the lime tree with decay near its base and the ailing ash tree with a forked trunk by Church Lane near the St Benedicts Close entrance are still sound. The tree surgeon confirmed that the planned work is sufficient, although the annual inspection identified that the ash near Abbey Drive is now also diseased and another couple of trees are in poor condition, so these need monitoring.
