In anticipation of the release of the Spyderco Stretch 2 XL sprint run, with a Damascus blade and blue Nishijin glass fiber scales, here’s a look at two types of Nishijin glass fiber that Spyderco has used in the past.
The smaller C205 Lil’ Lum Chinese Folder is a sprint run from 2017 and shows off the blue Nishijin. The larger C65 Lum Chinese Folder wears black Nishijin scales, it is a variation that was offered between 2010 – 2013.
Nishijin glass fiber certainly isn’t the grippiest handle material, but man, it does look good. I hope you can see the different patterns that appear in different shades of light.
