The South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club program has been providing an opportunity for local kids to play organized baseball for close to 60 years now. This is the story of how it all started back in the 1950s.

Right after World War II, South Plainfield was growing fast, and parents were interested in providing recreation for their baby boom kids of that era. In the early 50s, South Plainfield had no high school (North Plainfield High took most of the South Plainfield students) and no organized youth baseball program.
