The Solar Print project is a research project created upon the basis of a joint-lab between the research institute IIT and the company OMET .
The aim of the project is to use roll-to-roll printing techniques (such as flexography) in order to realise organic solar cells. The use of these techniques require to be able to build the solar cell on a flexible substrate such as paper or plastic film. On the other hand, these techniques will allow to radically drop the production cost of the solar cells: in part because less material will be wasted, and in part because of the intrinsic principle of roll-ro-roll production.
