October 11, 2014 was the worst day in both of our lives.
I was in Bill and Beth’s kitchen in Emmaus, shooting the shit about bikes, excited to ride the Bicycling Fall Classic the next day.
You were home in Durango, coming off an incredible summer. You did the Bicycle Tour of Colorado, a Rapha Randonee Alps, and the Breck Epic. You were in great shape, flying on the bike. You decided to join the Durango Wheel Club Ride to Purgatory and back. We often talked about how sketchy the DWC rides could be, but felt confident riding them because we’re attentive and very careful.
