These hemp and nylon gloves are meant to get wet. First, the hemp soaks while the nylon sheds water. Similar to a wet suit, the gloves warm up on the inside over time. Second, the water creates a hydrogen bond type grip with the rod, giving you full control. Lastly, the two layers separate in order to dry quickly and wash easily.
