Shontelle Prokipcak has been providing collaborative mental health and addiction services for youth, young adults and families in the Ottawa Region for the past 14 years. Shontelle works closely with individuals and families to identify the best treatment plans to meet their unique needs. She provides advocacy and participates in intra-professional teams to ensure the best quality of care for individuals and families.
Shontelle is committed to on-going education and training. Her training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Women's Issues, GLBTQ Issues, Mindfulness, Concurrent Disorders and Trauma and PTSD as well Addiction Issues.
Shontelle specializes in Concurrent Disorders: She works with individuals addressing substance abuse, internet and gaming addictions. Quite often these issues are combined with other challenges such a mood disorders, trauma, and possibly learning challenges or behavioral issues. Shontelle works from a holistic and strengths based perspective with all the individuals and families she works with.
