21-Feb-2013: First SOCAN royalty payment to artist-members Chris & Devon Aitken , and publisher-member Shiny Pine Music . Soon after, Devon received a mock-royalty-cheque celebratory letter-size poster to congratulate her on receiving her first royalty payment. I somehow was missed on that mailing and did not get mine until June. It was very cool when it came. The royalty cheque is a symbol of the start of a career for a songwriter. SOCAN, my PRO (Performing Rights Organization), does not issue cheques any
