Shatter Brain launched in January 2018, releasing a four-song demo that was mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy). The release was accompanied by a video clip for the debut single “Rip the Stitch” ( https://youtu.be/rT0hoiV1AsU ), and was supported by an Australian & New Zealand Tour between Feb and April. Upon returning to Australia, Shatter Brain released a split vinyl EP (aptly titled “The Twelve Inch Split”) with Melbourne band Blunt Shovel in early August and embarked on another tour with King Parrot and Blunt Shovel. The Twelve Inch Split featured two new Shatter Brain songs and a cover of the Mastodon classic “Blood and Thunder”. The release of the split was accompanied by a music video for the opening track “The Ship That Never Sinks” which featured footage of the band performing the song at Heavy SA

Shatter Brain began 2019 with a tour of Japan and returned to Australia to open for Max and Iggor Cavalera’s (Sepultura) “Return to Beneath the Arise” tour, during which Tom joined Max on stage to sing a rendition of AC/DCs “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”. In July/August, Shatter Brain entered the studio to record their debut album 'Pitchfork Justice' with Jimmy Balderston at Ghostnote Recording Studios (Scott Kelly, Sumeru, Space Bong).
