Description: Shannon Academy of English was established in 2001 by school director Caoimhe O'Connell. What started as an English language summer school for Spanish and French students has since grown and developed into a year-round, multicultural establishment offering several innovative programmes.
Shannon Academy works hard building solid relationships with Agencies both at home and abroad. Welcoming thousands of students over the years and now young professionals, we aim to give them not only an educational but an Irish cultural experience. Shannon Academy has worked with Host families in Athlone for many years and it has been a delightful experience. Becoming a Host family is a commitment but a beneficial one both economically and culturally. Many of our host families build long lasting relationships with students in their care. You provide the ‘Céad Míle Fáilte’ and we provide you with 24 hour support when it comes to caring for our students in your home.
