Hello Everybody! My name is Alexander and I was born with a condition called Spina Bifida. Having Spina Bifida is not the end of the world but it does complicate things for me. Right now, I cannot feel or use my legs. I also have to wear oxygen at night because my brain sometimes forgets to tell me to breath. I have several other special needs, but enough about me. Let me tell you about this great school I get to attend.
You may or may not know this, but I was on a waiting list for this school since before I was born. After three years , a spot opened up for me! This is my fourth and FINAL year at The Little Light House! My parents like to tell everyone about my school, but now it’s my turn to tell you all the great things about The Little Light House. It costs a lot of money to get all the things we need at our school. Every year, it costs about $30,000 per kid! My school doesn’t get any money from the government or United Way. The Little Light House does not charge any of the students’ families tuition. Whaaat?! All of the money we get comes from individual and corporate donors. Some grown-ups think it’s so amazing that all of the money comes from private donations. I think they are right.
