I created this site on the end of March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Because of the severe shortage of facemasks, it was designed as a vehicle to connect people who sew (and those willing to help) with places in need. Every donation, from the few to the many, helped. The accompanying Facebook group of people is still active and has over 1,200 members. Collectively, from April to when I last counted toward the end of the summer, we made and donated well over 35,000 masks! 

Even though facemasks are widely available and the number of people sewing has decreased since the summer, some continue sewing and donating to areas and facilities still in need. This site now documents what we did to help and also to serve as a resource for those looking for facemask sewing guidance.  In the coming days I will be updating the map to show a listing of facilities we helped and places that still require help such as Navajo Nation.
