The '97' repeater is based on a Kenwood TKR-750 commercial repeater. Most commercial two-way in the US have 150 MHz as the low end of their alignment. That is because the commercial band normally runs from 150-170 MHz. This equipment was designed for the ''low cut'' which includes the 2-meter band.
