It all began one fateful day when I was driving to Stonehenge. Coming up to a roundabout the steering on my faithful 2cv became very stiff to the point where it was hard to drive. I called out the AA and was assured that the problem was somewhere in the column (probably the bearings or nylon sleeve) and that it'd be ok to drive home and take it to a garage. I eventually took it to a garage to be told that the chassis had rusted through, and the vehicle was not only unroadworthy, but should probably be scrap
