With no cremator in use at the crematorium in Poole, demand has increased at Bournemouth crematorium. Bournemouth is one of the busiest facilities in the county, which means the survival of Poole crematorium is vital to the local community.
Before the final breakdown of the cremators at Poole crematorium in early 2020, demand at Bournemouth was decreasing year on year . On average, this was below 3,000 cremations in 2019. In 2020 this increased above 4,000 cremations . This increase is entirely due to cremations that would have otherwise taken place at Poole crematorium!
