I was lucky enough to be a part of the Playa Gigante Community Health Clinic. The passive design allowed for natural light and fresh air to circulate freely throughout the space without the need for electricity. The natural building methods, materials and techniques used by Casa de Tierra mimic the importance of nature in health and healing.
Primary disease prevention and promotion of health and wellbeing begins with open discussion and access to care. The large covered front porch and wide sliding barn door welcomes community members into the health clinic and provide access to healthcare in a beautiful setting. The community has been instrumental in the success of this clinic and together with Project WOO, they continue to enhance and develop their health objectives to meet the changing needs of the local population.
