Training involves shaping routines and teaching our pets English as a second language. In return, our pets teach us life’s most valuable lessons: freedom, forgiveness, and the joy of living in the moment.
Traditional training stresses the difference between pets and people through dominance. It’s time to reimagine the way we live with our pets. Training should be fun, fear-free, and inclusive!
Dogs are similar to children; they like being told where to go and what to do when life gets unpredictable. Without direction, dogs act out (barking, jumping, racing about, etc.). The goal is to instill impulse control and good manners by assigning words to actions (come, sit, stay, etc.). I love helping people understand and appreciate their dogs, cats, and other pets.
