ΟΥ ΤΙ ΔΑΝΟΣ
SANTORY is an ambitious, multi–disciplinary research project submitted in the framework of the “1st Call for H.F.R.I. Research Projects to Support Faculty Members & Researchers and Procure High-Value Research Equipment” (Ref.No.452/01.12.2017), in the Category III Proposals.
SANTORY seeks to provide solutions to understanding and mitigating future, potentially disastrous, impacts of explosive volcanic eruptions, landslides of hydrothermally weakened volcanic edifices, earthquakes (with probable consequent tsunamis), and the release of heavy and potentially hazardous metals in the water column.
The acronym SANTORY stands for SANTORini’s seafloor volcanic observatorY .
