As a visual artist I am interested in capturing the ephemeral using photos and fibres. Fibres are my media of choice for exploring the poetry of ephemeral moments or objects in three dimensional form. The fibres I have turned to again and again are those of paper pulp, wool, silk and metal. All of my fibre art displays a tension between strength and fragility which for me is the essence at the heart of life itself.

Photos always capture the ephemeral moment created by a combination of light and positioning. My earlier photographic work was influenced by my background in archaeology which has taught me that there is beauty in decay. More recently I have focused on several landscapes to which I have returned time and again, particularly the landscapes found in the village of Kamouraska, Quebec and the landscapes of my childhood in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
