I am an Associate Professor in the School of Information Sciences and Department of English at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I also direct Skeuomorph Press & BookLab , an experiential studio for teaching information arts that is housed in the Champaign-Urbana Community FabLab .

My research seeks to illuminate how technologies of production, reception, remediation, and interpretation shape the meanings of texts within historical communities, as well as how the complexities of historical texts pressure modern scholarly infrastructure.
