My name is Roland Wenzel, and I am currently a graduate student at the Department of Computer Science of Darmstadt University of Technology , Germany. Last year, I returned from one year of studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.
I finished my undergraduate studies for a joint masters degree in computer science and business administration after only three semesters at Darmstadt University of Technology, where I also expect to complete my Masters degree in the near future.
During my time at UBC, I took an interest in the area of machine learning with focus on probabilistic methods to solve the problem of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) in mobile robotics. I was working as a research assistant at LCI, the Laboratory for Computational Intelligence , under the supervision of Prof Nando de Freitas .
