At this year's Conference of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY), the largest women's bar in the nation, the Bar's Executive Board recognized Ellen for her dedication and contributions to the profession with the prestigious Betty Weinberg Ellerin Mentor Award.
Accepting the award from President Dawn Reid-Green, Ellen took the opportunity to thank the attorneys who passed along the benefit of their experience and encouraged her when she was a young lawyer. Declaring mentorship a privilege and a responsibility, Ellen called on all present to share their wisdom and experience whenever asked, and to instill in their mentees an obligation to "pay it forward" to attorneys of the future.
